Opportunities for RMC Plants

Thane–Mumbai–MMR: very strong opportunity for RMC Plants Thane is undergoing a reported ₹55,000-crore infrastructure overhaul, involving metro projects, flyovers and road connectivity works. MMRDA’s current tender pipeline also includes Metro Line 5A Durgadi–Kalyan–Bhoirwadi, with a ₹9,950-crore long-term financing tender listed in July 2026. These projects potentially generate substantial requirements for: RMC Batching plants Concrete pumps Transit mixers Aggregates Cement Admixtures Virar–Dahanu railway quadrupling – This is an interesting current project. The Virar–Dahanu railway quadrupling project is progressing, with two major bridges over the Vaitarna River—628 m and 515 m—and more than 50 bridges/underbridges already erected. The project is valued at about ₹3,578 crore. Current construction is actively moving concrete and other construction materials through difficult marshland conditions. This is exactly the type of project where captive batching plants can make commercial sense because transporting RMC over long distances can become inefficient. Pune / PCMC — active infrastructure pipeline Pune is also a good market. For example, PMC recently floated a ₹164-crore Chandani Chowk–Bhugaon road development tender, including a flyover, grade separator and bridge construction. More importantly, PMRDA currently maintains an active tender pipeline covering infrastructure, roads, sewerage and housing projects.

Current RMC supply opportunities in Pune

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) PMRDA has floated fresh tenders for concrete road construction under its FY 2026–27 program. These projects require large volumes of RMC, pavement-quality concrete, reinforcement, and associated construction materials. Submission deadlines for some packages fall in late July 2026. There are relatively few tenders that procure Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) as a standalone supply item. Most government projects bundle RMC into larger civil contracts, making them opportunities for approved RMC vendors to supply the winning contractor rather than bid directly. Active opportunities PMRDA concrete road works: Recent road construction packages require significant quantities of M20–M40 RMC for pavement, drains, culverts, and related structures. Some bid submissions are scheduled through late July 2026. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC): Multiple civil works tenders—including school infrastructure, water supply, drainage, and road projects—are currently open. These projects typically consume large volumes of RMC supplied through the EPC/civil contractor. Metro, highways, and industrial projects: Ongoing works in Pune continue to require regular RMC deliveries, although procurement is generally handled through project contractors rather than public RMC tenders. Important market update The Pune RMC market is operating under stricter environmental compliance requirements. Recently, authorities announced action against several non-compliant RMC plants, so contractors and suppliers are increasingly preferring vendors that meet pollution-control norms.
